MEMORALIA

I miss saying the word Mum. It embodied love, protection, strength, nurture and joy.
For fifteen years, I got to share a world with my Mum. It revolved around being behind our shop counter, interrupted by customers, the constant humming of exhaust fans, the scent of oil lingering in our clothes with the occasional burn.

As I look at old photographs and hold her items that once intertwined with her presence, I find myself immersed in her love and the grief that still follows.

With a short film and fried images I present Memoralia.

I want to inspire open conversations around grief. It wasn't something I found or could discuss when I was younger as it wasn't something people wanted to speak about or knew how. A massive thank you to Grand Boulevard Fish & Chips for allowing me to film within their establishment.

Special shout out to everyone I leaned on during this time to get through this personal project.
